Fortunately, most of them aren't very... cognitively adaptable; if we're clever, they won't catch on.
It's the few smart-ish ones who manipulate the rest that we have to watch out for.

@noelle I hadn't even (consciously?) realized these were things that people were conflating, but it makes a lot of sense now that you mention it.
In addition to clarifying what's wrong with actually hurting someone's feelings, it also exposes illegitimate invocations of "hurt feelings" (e.g. religious leaders having hurt feelings because people aren't obeying their barbaric rules) for the manipulations they are.
I'm handing off the discord for the meeting space etc to @clar and @Satsuma as admins.
They did wonderful with moderation during the meeting, and got bumped to admin after, because I needed to hand this project off after a month of intense work.
Thank you everyone who's been supportive of me in this process, it's been a rough month, but also fantastic.
Now I need some well deserved rest, and going forth I'll dedicate about 1hr to the project a day, until I catch up
