@hafnia There is a man in Malaysia who thinks my email address is his, and I get all is Facebook notifications (though I don't even have a Facebook account).
@selcaby Like our new dishwasher. When it's finished it doesn't go BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP for three-quarters of a minutes, but *blip* so soft that I can only hear it when I'm in the back room and no music is playing. (I had to teach it to do so, though. But even its original bleep was a lot softer than the previous machine's.)
Watched Nancy Drew, Reporter. Wacky fun.
Also (Spouse detected that) they want *so* much to be indispensable and were disappointed that I can apparently manage.
Told a helpy person "of course you should come to church tonight if you want to, but you should do it for you, not for me."
This person thinks they're in charge whenever they and I are in the choir together without Choirmistress, and sometimes even with Choirmistress. Taking them through a fairly intricate service they don't know well enough takes much more energy than singing everything alone (though I do wish I had a reader, reading the psalms in the middle means I don't get a breather)
@clark I don't know! I do know that the older I get, the more it annoys me.
@clark Yes, presumably. Like some people consider Halloween to begin on the first of October.
I wish people wouldn't say "Christmas" when they mean "December" (as in "the 8th day of Christmas" meaning today). "Advent" is probably the word you want. Christmas STARTS on the 25th so the 12th day is January 5. (The day after that is Epiphany or Theophany depending on your denomination.)
Found out what the cousins are for. They're staying.
It's a fairly common name in the setting and they're not in each other's way, I might just keep them both.
Here's a scene that *only* adds background; it should probably go but I must then painfully extricate two characters introduced in it from the next chapter and a half. (Also, I like these people! An uncle, aunt and cousins the protagonist didn't know he had)
Grr I've got two minor characters with the same name, which one shall I change, the middle-aged one or the young one?
Eek I've also got a pony that I should perhaps make more important or I'll have to be Cruel to it.
(For reference: https://valdyas.org/irina/fo3/writing/cruelty-to-characters-week/ )
I'm whiting out all bits that contain a character I want to get rid of to see if it works without them, but now they're having a really important conversation with the protagonist so I think they'll have to stay :-(
yay I get to commit Cruelty To Characters
