How the livestream courses work:
- We have livestream with co-teaching and demos
- There is a "Notes doc" for async and anonymous questions. We have experts answering through the whole course, both basic and advance questions are welcome
- There are "exercise breaks" where stream is muted and people work locally on what we just did. You can use the time to help your local attendees.

We do comment on differences between clusters. You are welcome to help us organize the course too.

Our " Summer Kickstart" course is 4-6 June 2024 (EU afternoons). Everyone is invited: it's so yes, *you* can attend.
- Day 1: general concepts and practices
- Day 2-3: Running stuff on a cluster (Slurm, batch jobs, interactive, parallel, etc).

It's a first course that everyone should be able to follow. You can re-advertise to your colleagues and be their local guide to your own cluster.

Triton cluster jobs will be suspended at 9:00 on Wednesday (2024 May 15) for maintenance. After it is over, please verify all jobs are OK. This is to avoid having to reserve all nodes and stop all calculations, which we would normally do. See Triton issue tracker /email for details.

Migration to the new cluster has gone OK: we've worked out most of big UI things, so we are back to daily garage only between 13-14. There are plenty of ongoing software installation issues; for these please make a Triton issue in Gitlab so it can be properly tracked. We remain available by chat.

TTT4HPC today was excellent, and we had a great presentation on containers (and one of our best lessons, period): If you've wondered what they are and how to use them for / on /desktop, this is the starting point you need.

More than 99% of the performance of a modern computer comes from parallelism. How to exploit it in practice?

@eglerean, from our team, has been accepted into the European Data Protection Board Support Pool of Experts. We hope this will give us more insights into the matters that the EDPB is discussing and allow us to support research better. As always: we support anything related to computation, data, and software.

Summary from team session where we discussed the install instructions in detail:

As expected, it became a discussion about usability and how to help a broad audience use Git - which these days is *not* pedantically from the command line.

We'll have some follow-up posts where you can help us by giving some thoughts.

We recently got more stickers, this time focused on recognizing the whole community at :

- "SciComp Garage" stickers to tell about our daily recurring help session.
- "DO disturb" to recognize those who go above and beyond to help their colleagues - since they are the under-appreciated foundation of our work.
