Ho * 3
One thing damn near every website doing their own "wrapped" style end-of-year wrapup (Nextdoor, WTF?) has demonstrated is how much data and PII these sites are hoarding about their users. It's cute you can tell me how many hours I spent playing a puzzle game, but also creepy.
Broadcast - The Book Lovers (Maida Vale Sessions Version)
Trish Keenan's death in 2011 robbed the world of a wonderful performer.
The studio version of this song, one of their early singles, was brilliant enough, but this BBC radio session version is even better.
Birdy Nam Nam - Abbesses
Hadn’t heard this one in a decade. Is this the shortest 6-minute track ever? I think so…
Ultimately, this is why search engines are doomed. It's really hard for a search engine to sniff this stuff out, and because they crawl this crap their overall indices are recursively polluted by it. #everythingisterrible

Love and Rockets - Yin and Yang (The Flowerpot Man)
This album was a huge favorite during my undergrad years, and this nutty chugging psychedelic skiffle track was one of the highlights.
Cheval de Frise - Fresques sur les parois secrètes du crâne
A little uneasy listening today -- Cheval de Frise were a French instrumental duo (hollow body guitar and drums) that released a couple of albums in the early 2000s. They were noisy and unruly, specializing in a sort of anti-groove that rewards close listening.
If you're fond of of math rock / post rock and maybe even free jazz you may find something to like here -- no guarantees!
@drahardja @carnage4life it’s very Alien v Predator
Pet peeve: why do so many online radio stations make direct .pls/.m3u links so darned hard to find? I just want to plug a URL into my player, I don’t want to use your popup web player.
Airtags are actually a pretty useful idea that was ruined by dickheads and paranoiacs, respectively.
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Veruschka
Well over 40 years into their careers and still capable of something beautiful.
Nushell seems pretty cool, but you could never set it as your default shell because it would completely break your brain any time you ever had to use someone else’s computer.
Unrest - Cath Carroll
This was the first thing I (consciously) played today and it still blows me away every time -- what a concentrated burst of adrenaline!
@eikenberry I have that addiction. I'm afraid to say out loud how many of them I have in the house.
