EDIT: I was stupid. :) Oscilloscope has common ground for the probes. I shorted 5VDC GND and 9VAC together. So the PSU went into protection. Clever Jens!
And the wonky waveform was also stupidity, by not clamping onto both AC lines.
The MacBook Pro is now properly set up.
