Trying out a new Mastodon desktop client on NixOS right now. As much as I love using Tokodon, I find that it's not exactly GNOME-friendly even though it does work.
The time trial mode in "Art of Rally" can be so addictive. I managed to go from 1:47.235 to 1:46.142 on the Noormarkku (Finland) course after a few tries.
There's absolutely nothing wrong in sticking a GTX 750ti in a second-hand SFF desktop with a 7th-gen Core i7, and running NixOS on it.
It does all the things I want, and I can still play some obscure games on Steam thanks to Proton. I'm talking ports of PS3 and PS4 games.
So what if I can't upgrade things any further? At least I know that my CPU is not going to fizzle out in an attempt to beat AMD's APUs and Apple's M chips in a benchmark battle.
My first impressions of NixOS are pretty positive so far.
A-1 Pictures certainly didn't have to go all out in animating "Too Many Losing Heroines", but I'm glad they did. Apart from giving the show a bit of a movie-like feel, they're doing a great job at bringing the characters to life.
I had the best audio experience (of the personal Hi-Fi type) last night.
A Teracube 2e smartphone with Tidal, my Flare Audio e-Prototype earphones, and the Hidizs SD2 DAC, all working together to take me on an astounding audio journey at around midnight, with the lights all off.
I've sang praises about the e-Prototype before, but man, this just blew everything right out of the water. There were just so many tiny details hidden away in the tracks I was listening to.
It's pretty hard to imagine that just 52 weeks ago, I was cleaning out my apartment in Japan on the day I was due to officially move out.
I'm pretty sure it took me over twelve hours - I didn't even eat lunch at all.
It's only a matter of time until "Shika Iro Days" is covered by either Electric Callboy or Feuerschwanz.
Deer antler headbands are not optional.
Finished binge-reading "Quality Assurance in Another World" (well, the entire official English release as of now).
It's reminiscent of early SAO (not that I've read/watched it, but I am familiar with the premise and major points) and Free Guy, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll adapt the first three or four volumes for the now-airing anime adaptation.

"I wish we could get a little more frames out of this."
Yeah, sorry, ETA Prime, but this makes you sound completely out of touch.
@alebaffa Y'know what? That's totally fair. GIMP is more than fine for my own needs as I'm not a professional, and I already have other apps on my iPad Pro if I need something more powerful.
I do use WINE for commercial music production software on Arch Linux, and things work quite well on that end, but yeah, YMMV depending on what you install.
Why buy a Windows license when you can install Linux and learn how to get figuratively intimate with your operating system? You save money AND you get to learn new skills.
I've got LM Studio up and running on my main desktop, and it works pretty well for the most part even though my machine doesn't have a dedicated GPU (unlike my gaming test rig).
The model I'm using is not perfect whatsoever (it got things completely wrong when I asked it to explain how to conjugate Japanese verbs into the past tense), but for an offline AI tool, it's not too shabby.
"A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics" was a fun anime to watch, and I really wish that the source material will get official English translations in the near future.
Having said that, just what on earth did the titular character (Sara) do during her short time at her elementary school to build up a cult following not just among the students, but their parents as well?
(For those who don't know Japanese, the Japanese word for "salad" is transcribed as "sarada", which can also mean "It's Sara!".)
