I joined Gemini space two days ago and made my own self-hosted site. Since I didn't like the idea of installing ~1 GB of Rust dependencies to serve a 1 kB static page, I am employing a Docker-wrapped setup of Gemserv, totaling just 8 MB.
I wrote a detailed tutorial on my Gemini space and provide the Docker image, if anyone wants to try this resource-minimal approach.

@kev no, no I was gonna take care of that next (sitemap, robots.txt etc.) Actually, I made this secondary site for simplicity / to focus on content :-D I guess managing it will be simple once everything is set up (and I really only want search and sitemap, maybe category pages that's it). But I have to admit, Jekyll has been a surprisingly difficult project for me so far. It had also initially taken me about a day to get going at all, because I insisted on a docker based setup

There seems to be a big hype around the Clubhouse app. Can anyone explain to me why? Is it just good marketing, this air of being "exclusive"? Or is there something fundamentally new and awesome about it?
Managed to install MSOffice on Ubuntu using Winapps! Performance is really good, almost seamless. Also had to convert my Linux partition to LVM to be able to extend the root partition and make space for the Windows VM (should have setup LVM in the first place). Was quite a task. If this setup works, I will seriously consider getting rid of my Windows partition for good. :ubuntu:

I noticed today that Element is available again in the Play Store. Anybody know how the story unfolded? Did they have to change something? Promise more content moderation? And how would they even do that? #element #matrix
