@jamescridland this is what I was afraid I’d learn about XSLT. I’m happy letting #Buzzsprout host my podcast, but I also want RSS to be the source of truth. I think I’ll end up parsing the feed and taking the info in it and slotting it into a templates post in Hugo.
@audiodude if that turns out to be the case, I’ll skip it and just parse the xml and then emit the corresponding markdown/html as appropriate. Really, all I need to do is parse it and apply a template (said generically, not as any kind of Hugo terminology)
I’m pretty excited to have finally found a prebuilt Hugo theme that is a suitable base for a podcast website! I got the minimal bits setup on Netlify tonight too. Next up is to finish basic customization and then create a tool to read my podcast’s rss feed and automatically generate posts for each item tag it contains. @dave pointed me to XSLT, which looks promising at first glance.
