Most all the snow has finally melted in North Dakota now. Only just a few small patches left.
GreenChess 9.0.8 is available now (with PGN file opening bug fixed) at: https://greenchess.com/apps/greenchess/index.html
It looks like there is a bug in macOS 13.3 that prevents the GreenChess App from opening PGN game files. I will have a new version out within a couple weeks that should resolve this bug along with other code optimizations that include more SwiftUI components.
Downtown Fargo today. Still cold with lots of snow on the ground and more cold waether on the way.
Drone views of Fargo today. Still plenty of snow on the ground and more to come tomorrow.
A more expansive drone view of the frozen Red River in Fargo today (towards the right side of the photos). Looking forward to when it starts to melt sometime this April and new leaves start budding in May if Winter ends that early this year.
Top down drone view of the frozen Red River today in Fargo. Just a small area that is liquid where the rapids are but everything else is frozen in it and all the rest of Fargo.
@redgreen925 @edrogers That certainly does happen frequently nowadays. I figured I would get some good photos of it while it was still standing since I like building architecture.
@redgreen925 @edrogers The building was in pretty bad shape. It is all affordable housing for seniors and disabled residents. I knew someone who had lived in it. They are going to replace it with affordable housing again but with a better and more modern building with better safety features. They looked at the cost of repairing the pipes in the building but it would have been too expensive and cheaper to replace the whole building.
@redgreen925 Not to worry. They will be removing all the asbestos before they blow it up. Will try to get some drone photos when it blows up from a distance this summer. It will probably be the most exciting thing that happens this year in Fargo and they will have a view area nearby also.
Another cold day in Fargo. The tall brown building in the foreground is scheduled to be imploded this summer since it contains 923 tons of asbestos having been built in 1971 and would be too expensive to refurbish.
Drone photos of Downtown Fargo this evening. It is supposed to be -20 next week so got these photos before the weather turns too cold for flying.
Today was a lot colder than yesterday here in North Dakota. Some of that snow is quite deep and there are some frozen ponds and lakes under them you don’t want to accidentally fall through. There is snow and ice everywhere all the way to the horizon.
Some drone photos of the North Dakota countryside today. Only about four more months of Winter until the snow melts. Was a bit cold today so I could only fly the drone for a few minutes outside at a time. I warmed up the batteries before I flew so the drone would have enough power to fly.
