@CppGuy I'm not arguing against this, but it's good to also bear in mind that nature and social systems which need changing to tackle climate change are nonlinear and complex. They can't be broken down and solved one problem at a time.
I believe for this reason none of your suggested actions do more than mitigate local harms.
Now tactics are always up for debate, but I have yet to see a viable route to a system change with this method and I think system theory can explain why.
Every country has their taboos and in #Finland one of the most nefarious is our obscene material footprint.
We are the baddies, but will absolutely deny it.
"Finland’s material footprint is seven times higher than the global sustainability boundary."
"Finland’s large footprints cannot be fully explained by factors such as population density, geographical latitude, or industry profile. Rather, Finland’s footprints are driven by excessive consumption of raw materials."
If you're looking for an email app for Android, give #FairEmail a try. It's fully open source (GPLv3), rich in features, very customizable and privacy conscious. This is the only app that can handle my slightly complex SMTP/IMAP setup.
The developer is very responsive to requests.
There's a pro version but buying it is done in a very nice way that's affordable to everyone.
If we want free software to thrive, these are the kinds of projects are what we should support.
Excellent speech by Ndongo Samba Sylla proposing unilateral decolonization and economic sovereignity by the global South governments.
The steps outlined – reducing material-technical dependency on the global North, mobilizing production and establishing industry policy for human well-being etc. – are excellent policies even it wouldn't lead to collective defaulting of odious debts.
Pinker on minusta malliesimerkki optimismista, jonka tarkoitus on rauhoitella ihmisiä. Hyssyttelevää optimismia varsin heppoisalla faktapohjalla.
Koitin itse hahmotella tätä kenttää, ja monet Pinkerin ulostulot putoavat tuohon "brute pacifying optimism" -lokeroon.

Nope. The question is about "Palestenians" and "Israelis" with-an-s, meaning people. Not "Palestine" and "Israel".
The answer is racist because it claims that universal human rights don't apply to some people but do to others.

I'm from Finland, and yes fossil fuels is one reason Finns are rich, in the sense that all capitalism is dependent on fossil fuels (Finland has no oil). Finns are also rich because we've turned 97% of our forests into tree plantations.
In general the Nordic model is possible only because we heavily rely on exploitation of people far away to make up for the lost profits. It's a dirty deal between workers and capitalists to fuck over people who are not at the negotiation table.
Excellent post by @molly0xfff on "AI". One of many gems:
"But I find one common thread among the things AI tools are particularly suited to doing: do we even want to be doing these things? If all you want out of a meeting is the AI-generated summary, maybe that meeting could've been an email. If you're using AI to write your emails, and your recipient is using AI to read them, could you maybe cut out the whole thing entirely?"
