In a new effort to keep up the quality of the #rStats packages @bioconductor
will periodically "confirm valid maintainer emails and
remind maintainers of Bioconductor policies and expectations":
With links to
1. Code of Conduct: https://bioconductor.org/about/code-of-conduct/
2. Maintainer Expectations: https://contributions.bioconductor.org/bioconductor-package-submissions.html#author
3. Deprecation Practices: https://contributions.bioconductor.org/package-end-of-life-policy.html
And a link to validate that the maintainer accepts it so they can keep track of it.
I haven't found any public announcement of it to link
This is a great summary of the experience of @bioconductor being a member of @thecarpentries: https://blog.bioconductor.org/posts/2025-02-28-carpentries-update/ by @_mdoyle_
It is a very nice example of how other communities can partner with The Carpentries and grow together. Congratulations!!

Bioconductor participated in the Outreachy Internship Program for the June–August 2025 cohort. As part of this program, interns Victoria Poromon and Anne-Marie Sharp worked on a range of projects within the Bioconductor community and now share their experiences contributing to BugSigDB and Bioconductor more broadly.
Their stories serve as a powerful reminder that open source is not just about code, but also about the people behind it.
