Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum has expressed her government's support for Panama after threats from U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
On Sunday, he said that Washington should try and regain control over the Panama Canal. Trump accused Panama of overcharging US-owned ships for passing through.
The Mexican president -- who's got her own issues with the incoming US administration over Trump's tariffs threat -- said the US had no claim to waterway.

Somewhere at Estato de Mexico at 2700+ meter elevation, the sun is shining and it is f*cking cold! It does not take away from the tranquil surrounding and laid-back lifestyle around the Mazahua people.

En algún lugar del Estado de México, a más de 2700 metros de altura, el sol brilla y hace un frío terrible. Esto no le quita tranquilidad al entorno y al estilo de vida relajado que rodea al pueblo mazahua.

Following its discovery in the 70s, the Cantarell oil field enabled Mexico to become a major oil producer.
Decades of lax management and complacency by Pemex, Mexico's state-owned oil company, together with the declining output of the Cantarell, has left the country with serious production problems.

Being a woman in Mexico is tough—if not dangerous. Women earn 16% less than men, and the gender gap in labor force participation is one of the highest in Latin America. But perhaps the most shocking statistic is that every hour, at least one woman disappears, and every day, 11 women die violently.

Femicides skyrocketed 137 percent in Mexico from 2015 to 2020.
At least 10 women and girls are killed every day in the country although pretty much all statistics relating to femicides are presumed to be underestimates given that many crimes go unreported or are reported as regular homicides.
Tens of thousands of women are missing.
