A large area of disturbed weather associated with a trough of low
pressure extends several hundred miles southwest of the
southwestern coast of Mexico. Environmental conditions appear
conducive for development, and a tropical depression is
expected to form within the next few days before the system
reaches cooler waters later this weekend. This system is forecast to move west-northwestward at about 15 mph away from
the coast of southwestern Mexico.

Hurricane Elida is about 800 km West of the southern tip of Baja peninsula.
There are multiple systems developing (graphic = NOAA) from west of the Gulf of Tehuantepec to low pressure located about 1400 miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California. We address them when they are more current.
Today, 12. August 2020 we will face very sunny conditions again with peak temperatures around 37C.

Elida strengthened into a hurricane Monday off Mexico’s southern Pacific coast. Elida had maximum sustained winds of 120km/h (75 mph) and was located about 380 kilometers (235 miles) south-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.
It was moving west-northwest at 14 mph (22 kph), and is expected to begin weakening by Wednesday or Thursday.

Elida on the cusp of becoming a hurricane. At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Elida was located near latitude 18.9 North, longitude 109.8 West. Elida is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h), and this heading with a gradual decrease in forward speed is expected through Thursday.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher gusts.
