Doing the fun bits of sanding drywall this morning. Our new master bedroom is in the addition we built a few years back, and the old master is shared by a couple of the kids. To give them more space we tore out the wall to what was the old master closet. We had to add a beam because it was a bearing wall for the ceiling joists. We’ll be replacing the giant space eating closet, with a row of, probably ikea, wardrobes.
@smitty fun! We haven’t tried mead yet, but our new venture into brewing our own kombucha has been going really well. Might have to convince my spouse to try this next😄
@smitty is this the connector for OHI? 😜
My phone had been in this weird crash cycle - worked for awhile, would crash and lock, after a few minutes would restart itself. Went on for a couple day. Just did a factory reset and slowly restoring bits at a time. So far it seems to be behaving itself.
@arth@fosstodon.org paging all lefties! Raise your (left) hands high!
@ve3qbz @tebrown yup, I have a handful around. I actually did a presentation on building the space that I stuck a copy of here. I should prob do a quick walk-through as an update, since I’ve made some updates and modifications since then.
@smitty I’m not sure what this makes me - my main monitors seem to imply some combo of Lawful Good and Lawful Evil, but the extra random monitor that’s over my right shoulder seems to put me somewhere in chaotic territory 😀
All 5 of the new chicks are hatched now, and will move to their brooder later today. They’re all from one rooster, but 4 of the eggs came from one hen, and the 5th from a different hen. 10 internet points if you can guess which one was the 5th😀
@kr1st Ug, yeah that stinks. Local townships can be a pain. We’ve been slowly planting and adding fence around our property to at least keep the busy bodies from peering into our yard, because we have pushed a couple of our township rules to their limits😀
@kr1st these are a mix - the rooster was an Easter Egger and the hen was Golden Laced Wyandotte, so they’ll be kind of a grab-bag of genetics.
@ai6yr we talk about this often - in like a single generation, people somehow became detached from their food, and think that “factory=sterile” and “plastic=clean” as though the stuff didn’t get grown in dirt and picked by hand anyway.
@ai6yr nice! We do the same with our dandelion greens. The kids get the job of plucking the petals off, and we make dandelion wine from them🤤
