@dimsumthinking I use OmniGraffle for all my images. I do have some hand-drawn kanban boards in some of my books, but *I* have trouble getting (what I think is) enough contrast for the image.
For hand-drawn, I then scan.
Years ago I published a blog post called Rounding the Corners about how I applied Lean thinking (before I knew what it was) to mowing the lawn. Later, after acquiring a riding lawn mower, I published Systems Thinking in the Back Yard, in which I discussed how that new tool affected the process of mowing the lawn.
That same experience returned recently when I was implementing a new feature to import a new type of file.
