This weekend, I'll be playing and chatting about the games I worked on in 2021, joined by collaborators who worked with me on #HiveTime, #BatEgg, and Cloud Courier! It'll be at 2200 Saturday UTC - hope to see you there!

@cidney Gotcha ^_^
@cidney For me, it depends on that game, what it's trying to achieve and how it's written.
I think there's a big difference between fully voiced and partially voiced too (IMO, Disco Elysium was stronger when it wasn't fully voiced, but the partial voicework in the initial release did help establish and ground characters).
Voice fidelity can play a role too (KR0's indistinct voicework also helps establish characters while leaving a lot to/prompting imagination).

Wowsers! My little bee sim #HiveTime has been downloaded 60,000 times. Thank you to everybee who took the time to play. To anybee who hasn't, it's PWYW, why not give it a try? ๐งก๐๐ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WRBWSgpjoU #indiegame #indiedev #gamedevelopment
The fragility of just-in-time supply chains seems topical right now. Here's a minimalist management sim/thought experiment I made with @systemchalk@Twitter.com (very groovy soundtrack by @KestrelPi ) a while back that explores just that https://cheeseness.itch.io/supply-chain

Been seeing Neuron scooters pop up, and it's a bit gross. They're moved around overnight to look freshly used, frequently blocking footpaths, park entrances, etc..
These are our homes, not a marketplace. These are our footpaths, they need to be traversable by people in wheelchairs or other mobility aids. Our parks don't need to be filled with what is effectively high tech litter.
To see this in my own neighbourhood so soon after Brendon's story made news disgusts me.
