I've loved Tekumel for a long time, the language and worldbuilding is part of what inspired me to get into #conlang stuff.
I am just stunned. I know that Tekumel sometimes got into edgy territory, but at the heart of it it seemed to be a very cosmopolitan and ultimately progressive message embedded in the work. I now have to reexamine everything about this setting.
The audiobook for #becauseInternet is pretty delightful. I actually bought it on accident, meaning to buy the ebook version but there are nuances in the audiobook that are just 👨🍳

I finished A Desolation Called peace in an epic plane ride marathon. It was good, not quite as solid as A Memory Called Empire but I will definitely read both again in the near future. I love Three Seagrass, she is one of my favorite characters ever.

I don’t generally like making New Year’s #resolutions. I kind of do them every month actually, which is working out for me. Much easier to plan and assess how it’s going on a smaller scale.
#January is going to be a busy month. I want to sell my house and move. That’s going to take up most of my energy. Even so I am going to try to read at least a couple books and write a whole lot. My daily journal for this month is up to about 6k words, which is decent for me but I know I can go bigger.
