One more shift and then my annual leave starts. 3 weeks of not having to work sounds fantastic.

I’ve been playing Palworld. It reeks of Pokémon-like inspiration but that’s okay. It’s been fun while my internet wasn’t being a smelly turd. Disconnections for hours a day, multiple days. (Note for potential visitors to Australia: the internet here sucks. Always has. I think it always will.)

Working today. Off tomorrow and the next day. I thought about picking up more shifts but A) it won't make my $ situation any better... right now, B) I've got 3 weekend days and a public holiday on the next pay check and C) I'm still in pain and REALLY felt it yesterday.

Something good: annual leave starts in a week from now. Husband will be here which will be nice. Hopefully he'll wrangle a job here within the next month. Fingers crossed.

I've been sick. My last pay check covered just enough for my rent. Who needs pesky things like food, electricity, and water? (AKA, the next two weeks are gonna suck.)

It's okay to like people's accents as long as you're not weird about it, right? I like my husband's accent. I can tell that he's picked up some of my Texan accent at times. (My long i sound is still very Texan. I don't think I can lose it.)

Next week, I'm rostered to work until 7:30 am, then start at 7:00 am... the same day. Can someone help me clone myself? (They'll catch it. Just don't know when...)

So, my half-full container of uneaten shrimp curry leaked in my work bag while I slept last night. Boo. (I hate the smell of shrimp paste, but will sometimes eat food with it as an ingredient.)

Oh, and I also hate US election years. Let the general stupidity and an almost year-long test of patience begin now.

I'm pretty excited. Husband's going to be back after going back to his home country for a month. It felt like forever.

It's a beautiful, sunny, clear, 22ºC day today but I'm not interested in that either. I'm looking forward to having my husband back in about 5 days. I need to start planning a return to the USA but perhaps after the house has been built. Who the heck knows...

I still don't have this Christmastime in Australia thing worked out yet. I just have zero interest when it's not cold outside around Christmas. I'm working during the holidays so I can start that saving I'm supposed to be doing to get a spa when I move... or a new Mac at some point. Whatever you're doing at this time of the year, I hope it's pretty good.

I worked today, but work tomorrow night. I want to stay up for as late as possible, but don't think I'll be able to do it.

God, I feel old.

I came back home after work and everything was a-OK. Gotta do it again tonight. "Practice" makes perfect, eh?

I usually get like this when I go back to work after a break. I get really needy and a bit lonely. I get really anxious returning to work, but feel much better once I get there. Go figure.

I miss my husband who will be gone for another 2.5 weeks. I need to find local work prospects for him so he has an interview or two lined up when he gets back. The time for him to move down here with me is overdue. (Shouldn't have happened at all, honestly. I take the blame for that.)

Tonight's the first shift since my break-in and I'm still a bit uneasy leaving my place for a long time. I don't want to come back home and find my dog missing which is my biggest fear. At the same time, I can't just stay home every day for the rest of my life with no income. So... yeah. Frequent check-ins via cameras are in order tonight. I can do this.

When I went to India last time, there were huge millipedes hanging around everywhere at a temple I went to. I had a really hard time with that. (I have a big fear of worms, snails, slugs... that kind of disgusting stuff.)
