#GIS or Geographic Information Systems/Science, are the technologies that capture earth data, analysis and visualize it, and relate it back to inform our view of the world.
As GIS has crept into more scientific disciplines, it's important to recognize the limitations of viewing our world through the lenses of technology. That said, GIS has introduced new scales of exploration in ways that we couldn't perceive without it. So let's celebrate!
