Welp, Birkenstock’s have a couple years before they are just trash, then.
Seeing my bridge or ladder get likes from anonymous people because it was put in a good spot was always super cool. I was helping people I don’t know at all on their quest.
Conversely, me liking objects that showed up in my game made me know I was helping some stats for someone.
And it’s hard to explain why that’s captivating if you haven’t played it — the idea that you might build something with the chance it could help someone you don’t know, which is motivation in itself.
I can 100% understand why some people may not like the game, and that’s totally OK. But I do feel like it’s kind of like watching someone play Tetris. On the face of it, watching a normal person play Tetris isn’t that exciting. But when YOU play Tetris, it’s fun. You get the vibe and it’s great.
The nerdsphere saw the game, saw him walking a stack of packages, and decided the game was silly (and parts of it definitely are). But it struck a cord with me.

Windows: “I got some good news. I went ahead and updated even though you didn’t ask for that. Of course I restarted, and you have to open everything back up.”
Me: “Bitch, why?”
W: “I DON’T KNOW!”
