@arstechnica This is wild. I have a Canon 60D from 14 years ago that they released software for free which allows webcam functionality.
Corporate greed machine go brrrr.
@verge I didn’t know Jack was involved with Cash App.
Oof.
#Severance sure is the best show, isn’t it?
Excited for more season 2!
@verge Only five, huh?
Yeah this is a great idea. Subscribe.
I think I just saw my first genAI garbage image on #Pixelfed.
That's how you know it's made it.
@magicaltrash I would have never imagined they had so many half-bois around the parks.
#Switch2 finally shown (I mean, it’s exactly like the leaks, but whatever)!
Now we have to wait SO LONG to get more information.
I’m sure there will be a ton of leaks between now and then, though.
This might be my favorite can to date.
My little #pixelfed server is kinda popping off today.
Looks like lots of new people have joined and are posting photos.
That's really fun!
#Windows deciding to restart on its own overnight will never not be maddening.
My work laptop just loves to do that so in the morning I end up having to restart up a bunch of apps.
I've been putting off scheduling an eye exam for maybe a month because I'm so lazy about calling in to do that.
But then I just checked to see if you can do it online, so that took all of two minutes to set up.
Finally, a useful technology!
#StageManager on #iPadOS is a bit janky, but today I'm trying it out on my #Mac for fun.
It certainly works better, but I'm not 100% sure it's something that I *NEED*.
I have, say, a stage for social media apps like this one, and then another for general web browsing and such. But I don't know if I’ve really felt the utility of it yet.
OK, that's enough of that. I can't listen to the GOP fawn over #Hegseth any more.
"Tell me something about your wife that you love.”
Yep, real serious country we have here.
I feel like if you searched for "slimy used car salesman" a picture of this #Hegseth guy would pop up.
Oh no...I have turned on this hearing about this Hegseth idiot.
What have I done?
It’s...terrible.
All this “sophisticated AI" garbage for search, but none of them understand that if my search query is related to code/design I probably don't want some stack overflow answer from 2009.
It's been literally 16 years, there's probably a newer, better way to do the thing.
Not always! But I still end up looking for newer answers to my questions.
I tried to make a post using the new @pixelfed app, but I don’t think it went through.
Considering it’s a new app + potential influx of users, I could imagine my server might be getting hit hard.
We’ll see. It’s neat that it exists, though.
