Hey Legal types…I asked this years ago, curious if the state-of-law has changed.

There are many sites online where you can buy STL files for 3D printing which are CC licensed Non-Commercial by the creator. This obviously means that you can't resell the file, or any modified versions if the CC includes derivatives.

Can you legally sell the physical prints (in the US), though, even if the file is NC? Does it change the answer if the output file is "useful" and not artistic or decorative?
