Too hot here :blobsweats:
Maybe the mentioned notches were encountered with the X-Over set to Linkwitz-Riley 2nd order...?
Because that would indeed introduce a 180-degree phase shift between high-pass & low-pass outputs.
However, engaging the relevant phase-buttons, makes these notches go away, and I see a straight line on the analyzer.
Besides, this is clearly audible.
Anyway...enough of that now 😉
Plugin analysis, Calf X-Over / LSP Crossover.
The steps in the phase response at the higher bands are erratic, but other than that...
One last post on the #calfstudiogear story:
the X-Overs are pretty much the only ones I still use quite frequently to mess around with provisional active speaker setups (#CalfJackHost, multichannel Interface into multichannel power amp).
So I wanted to check the notching out of frequencies due to phase issues as mentioned in the #Ardour forum.
All I found is that they behave pretty much as I would expect them to. Linkwitz-Riley 4th order, 4-band X-Over at 100Hz, 1000Hz & 5000Hz. Screenshot:

Understand 👍

Honestly wouldn't worry too much about that, as long as you get the results you're looking for.
Your ear decides.
Been a while now since I've used the Calf Plugs, but I think that little snippet I posted the other day proves that they are workable and you can achieve good results using them.
The fairly scientific discussions of the Ardour crowd are interesting to follow, but again: your ear decides.
Use, what suits your music.
Blast from the past... 😀
My isolation cab.
I built that thing back in 2013. 22mm MDF, box-in-a-box with a 40mm natural fibre insulation layer separating the internal and external walls.
12" driver.
Front chamber takes two mics on flexible necks.
Weighs 100+ kg.
Drive your amp 'till it smokes off without driving your neighbours nuts 😜

My stance is 100% "if it sounds good, it is good".
Sure, the Calf stuff isn't perfect, and yes, YMMV.
But the same has to be said for many commercial plugs.
They're tools, and every tool has its use case.
My 2c.
Off-topic...after wrecking my head with French legalese all afternoon, this is most welcome and well deserved 😉🍻
@music
Thanks 😎
Excellent plugins (if you don't know them already anyway):
Totally missed, that he has a Website now next to his Patreon-page 😂
Go figure...
