Bluesky: “If you liked Twitter, you’ll love Bluesky.”
Mastodon: “If you hated Twitter, you’ll like Mastodon.”
Hundreds of millions of people liked what Twitter once was, and what it aspired to be. Bluesky might be that.
Bluesky, in both word (stated intentions) and deed (the nascent service as it stands today), aspires to be a better Twitter. An idealized Twitter, perhaps. It even looks just like Twitter — without all the crap.
Mastodon was created by and for people who wanted something different from Twitter. So when Twitter refugees show up, it doesn’t feel familiar. Because it’s not supposed to.
@ValerianForrest You piqued my interest, so I looked up who played Bottom. Mariah Gale? Name rang a bell… because back in 2010 I thought she gave the best Juliet I’d ever seen https://littlestorping.co.uk/2010/12/13/romeo-and-juliet-review/

@LoneLocust You could have got them to give you God’s definitive position on mind wipes.
@LoneLocust I think they realised you didn’t need encouragement 🤣
@josh ah yes, when Jeff Davros was CEO.
What's the point of HS2, exactly? Well I'm very glad you asked.

It’s not only not the Doctor’s best costume, it’s not even McCoy’s best costume.
In an infinite universe, it appears that even Colin Baker's #DoctorWho costume can come into fashion... Although the #1 choice does suggest there must be some trolling going on here... https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2023/apr/26/the-best-and-worst-doctor-who-fashion-ranked
@LoneLocust I've used shortcuts in automations and I think they're a level below native HomeKit! Considerably slower and still very limited if you run them off the HomePod, and distinctly flaky if you run them off the phone.
Only 14 months behind on this, but Bullitt 2? 😱 Noooo! https://www.thewrap.com/steven-spielberg-steve-mcqueen-frank-bullit/
@LoneLocust Agree with all of this but also (this may be more niche) I desparately want to be able to reuse automation routines. For example: I frequently programme a switch as a toggle for a group of lights. Requires two automations, conditionals (check if any/all of the lights are on/off) as well as setting two scenes (all on, all off). Would love to be able to create it as a function, and just pass it the switch and lights - this kind of thing used to be a doddle in (old) SmartThings.
