Goes without saying, but I'm beyond honoured to be the first release on FINRG Legacy. This track's been a long time coming, but it's given me plenty of confidence to keep at it. Hopefully that'll mean more than one track a decade from now on.
A promising track here from an up-and-comer in the scene, releasing soon on FINRG:
After not being massively inspired this week the chances of a set this weekend are pretty slim...will see how things are looking after a little practice tomorrow.
Goapal is without doubt the most impressive DJ I've discovered in the last year or so, in any genre. It's rare to hear Goa mixed with this much care, check out his Starline Tour set as an example:

Most likely thanks to TYFTH being more active again these days, there were more orders for In Praise of Shadows over the past month or so than for the whole of 2020. Big thanks!
Breaking even on the project is still extremely unlikely but that's not the point - if this revives some interest in the (sub?)genre and gets some new DJs and producers on board in 2022 then I'll be very happy.
An all time classic, one of NRGetic Romancer's anthems. RR-ThermalForce - Al Megiddo:
Today's track is Alek Szahala's Phobos, an unreleased early take on Deimos. This version would sound fantastic in the middle of a darker set.
@Sherkel Ah this is great, hadn't heard it before either! A strong kick is usually enough to keep the older Kretrix stuff playable even with a wonky mixdown.
I've been stuck for ideas lately but managed to work out a 'build the set around it' kind of transition, so we're back in business. Hoping end of the month-ish for the stream.
@Sherkel I hadn't heard this! Some satisfying filters in there, and enjoyed the big finale! Happy to have indirectly helped, I prefer the leaping tiger (called Dragon apparently) but this one's great too.
There'll be more time for music than expected this month, so I'll see if I can get a set ready while I have the chance. I have a couple of ideas in mind, but Romancer-esque NRG to freeform sounds good for the next one.
I'll be adding a freeform or NRG track here each week that I think is a good unmixed, stand-alone listen.
First one is Mother, an unreleased track by The Machinist & Rika. Beautiful, gritty, late 2000s style here:
As usual I've been looking away from freeform for mixing inspiration - the latest to really impress me was this (mostly) mid-90s jungle set from Selectabwoy.
A really nice example of how a restricted track selection can bring out the creativity, there are some beautiful transitions and combinations in this one.

I mentioned Sherkel's Tower of Konviction on TYFTH the other day: https://soundcloud.com/sherkel/tower-of-konviction-halloween-promo-mix-2k21 Some great, unique tracks and highly recommended.
An honourable mention should also go to Risa's GZ24H set - typical in some ways of the post-CODEX style in Japan, with Substanced tracks doing lots of work to keep up the quality level. Nothing too unusual happening with the mixing here but a very nice melodic selection, plus a great use of The Ghost.

Shows how much I enjoy these tunes - I had no trouble at all sitting down yesterday for a rerecording. This is probably the best version of it yet, and just went up on SoundCloud:

Hopefully it's sounding good and doing these tracks justice.
There's plenty to say about the set and how it came together, so expect something of that sort on TYFTH pretty soon, too.
Huge thanks to everyone who listened along to the official comeback stream last night, including quite a few new names. It was great to see everyone, and long overdue.
There were some audio hiccups early on that have me debating what to do with the video, but either way I'll be recording a cleaner version for SC. Hopefully that'll be done today or tomorrow, followed by an upload sometime this week.
The next TYFTH Live will be tomorrow (18th Dec) at 19:30 JST, when I'll be playing a set of Exemia's freeform tracks.
About 90% done with the planning for that set, and had the first beginning-to-end practice tonight. Some perilous transitions are going to make it a challenge to pull off on stream, but I've been getting The Feeling plenty of times already.
@Sherkel Yup, different to that one - that somehow turned into the Hardcore for Life set in the end. Since had some ideas for yet another set, so I'm not sure which'll appear first.
@Sherkel Oh this is perfect, thanks! One of the problems with the mix planning was that there are so many subgenres I wasn't sticking around one for long enough. Some of it was definitely leaning more in the Nastika direction though..
