@RebalLance It's really nice to hear your thoughts, it's such a great set! I agree about some of the transitions but it's very likely that Proteus was picking most of the tracks depending on how the crowd was reacting.
Good idea on the tracklist, I'll get started on that soon!
Something I forgot to mention recently - I finally sorted out the copyright trouble with Proteus' NRGetic Romancer set and it's listenable again. It first went online years ago so this might be the first chance for many to hear it!
Big thanks as always to everyone who made it to the stream last night!
The set is online now, and the YT timestamps will be added asap.
@RebalLance It's unusually on a Monday this time, but would be great to see you if possible!
@Sherkel Haha amazing! Who could have predicted this tie-in? I hope they do vegan donuts too though, or I might get cold feet at the last minute...
@Sherkel Beyond the call of duty once again! Very much obliged, and see you tomorrow :)
I'm back in Tokyo for a few days, so that means a weekday TYFTH Live! It'll be happening tomorrow (19th) at 19:30 JST. I've settled on the tracklist and it'll be on the longer side - a three-deck set of goa trance with a bit of NRG.
I've also been tinkering with the studio set for FINRG, as well as sorting out some ideas for 014 (which'll be freeform).
In the meantime, same place as usual for tomorrow's set!
Not having enormous success at posting on TYFTH with my phone, so for now here's a track that's been on my mind again lately. Re-form might still be the masters of long, dark, strange breakdowns...
@Sherkel Good to hear the trademark Betwixt cymbal in there, too!
@Sherkel Well thanks Seneca, appreciate the sentiment! (If a bit too optimistic)
@Sherkel great to hear so much thought went into it, and goes without saying I agree with most of that! Will keep this in mind when I give it a start to finish listen.
TYFTH was down for a while, but it looks like things are back in order - minus the last post, that is. While away I'm keeping an eye on things via my phone but will at least have a try at redoing that last one.
Meanwhile, I'm travelling with my mixing setup and had a first run through of the TYFTH Live 013 set! 90mins of goa with some stealth NRG here and there, it's looking promising so far.
In the meantime, some good news! Another Full Circle DJs set from NRGetic Romancer has just gone online, and in decent quality as it was the mixed part of the Live PA. Sadly it doesn't include Yousuke's guitar and Buzz's percussion, but it's another one of their best sets.
A quick TYFTH Live update again - annoyingly there are just a couple of tracks I'd like to add in the middle for it to be ready, but it won't be happening before I leave. Being away from TYFTH Towers for most of this month is the tricky part, but it'll go online as a set or stream asap.
@Sherkel Very much looking forward to giving this a proper listen, very good first impressions!
Very sorry to say that there won't be time for a TYFTH Live tomorrow after all - I'm away again from Monday, and there's too much going on tomorrow to fit in in. Most likely is for it to appear in September instead, as that's when TYFTH will really get going again. More news as and when!
Someday that set will go up on YT, I'm sure...I'm extremely busy again this week and haven't managed to get around to it.
Good news on Live 013 though, it'll be happening on Sunday (proper confirmation the evening before, as usual). As usual it's getting a bit too ambitious and I'll have trouble fitting all the tracks in before the weekend, but I'm very happy with what's there so far - plenty of darker goa and some NRG to finish.
@Sherkel You make a good case, but as I tend to answer incorrectly to the opening question it's not something I have to think about too often. I envy you!
Sorry to say that I won't have time for a stream tomorrow, but at least the setlist is just about decided.
TYFTH is probably going to be fairly quiet during August, so I'll do my best to stream 013 asap. That might mean a Friday or Saturday next week, but let's see...
In the meantime there'll be a set from the archives (finally) going up on YT - possibly a Romancer recording this time.
This week's track is Spellhaunt, an experimental Assembly entry by Alek Szahala. I don't remember hearing this at the time!
