I went for a walk through Annandale and Stanmore on the way to the market today, and stumbled across this

@pzmyers I went looking for some replacement blades yesterday and was told these are un-Australian. That's alright, so am I.
@bestthingsbot first day at the new job with interesting new challenges
I may not have cycled as much in the last year or so as usual, but I still call myself a cyclist since I ride bikes in my dreams ☺
@bestthingsbot last day at the old job before starting something new on Monday. That does involve heading into the city for a few hours in the morning and meeting strange people 😷
I just started watching Charade for the first time in ages. Audrey is still my favourite Hepburn and the writing is en-point

I just found a new pet peeve. Software developers claiming that they're "force multipliers" can get in the bin unless they're military adjacent
@daedalus happy birthday
I just read a fascinating excerpt on Bird Site about the deeply misogynist roots of the term Stockholm Syndrome. It's from the book "See What You Made Me Do: Power, Control and Domestic Violence"... xkcd's obituary for John Conway is extremely clever
@twiddlekins Thanks. All of us with pets know how shitty it can be as they get sick, and/or old, and leave us. It's now the first time we've been a household without pets in 20 years (and lost 3 cats and 2 dogs in that time). Once the scars heal a bit and we're allowed to get out and about, we'll probably find ourselves a new furry friend of some description.
