I'm officially an associate professor now.
I'm spending a couple of days in Paderborn for SIROCCO, a cosy conference on distributed computing. Christian Scheideler is doing a fantastic job as an organizer.
I've used my slot today to talk about our recent progress on Laplacian solving in distributed models of computation. Slides: https://www.cs.sbg.ac.at/~forster/talks/SIROCCO2022.pdf
Our university is hosting a science-to-public event of the Austrian Academy of Sciences tomorrow evening. I will give one of the talks where I will try to explain what my research is about in 10 minutes.
