Wake-up call from the bike shop. Upgrading the bike I was thinking of using for randonneuring and possibly even an ultracycling race is not really a great idea. Between usual tune-up and upgrades we're looking at $1-1.5k and maybe more later.
So now I looked at what I need to do an ultra and wow. That's some money. I need to decide if I'm serious. Or if I should just go back to touring with my Surly LHT. #BikeTooter

Yesterday I borrowed some speed from the tailwind bank on my commute home. Mother Nature came to collect her debt this morning with a fierce headwind. Side note: we had a bit of snow last night (no accumulation). This winter seems to have lasted FOREVER.
