@Matthieu was going to say DuckDuckGo but they shut down their XMPP servers a few years ago. The conference rooms for multi-person-chat they had were fantastic though.

For the fan: enjoying the hell out of Alpha Beta Gamer on youtube. So many obscure stylish horror games, and no commentary so you get to focus on the game being LP'd.

Have to say though, having some issues. I tried making a basic rec file but it does not auto generate any fields and all entries are put at the start of the file rather at the bottom... :S

Suddenly keeping tiny databases for personal use (tracking books, links, etc) got a lot easier via RECUTILS! :D

@admin Hooray! Great job! so happy that mstdn is back and stable :D

Will donate to help with running costs at the end of the month if there is anything left in the budget.

Btw, seems 'saythanks.io' is no more, so might want to remove the link from the about page.

On a side note, seems DrDOS is also working on livestreaming ZZT games: twitch.tv/worldsofzzt/ and youtube.com/channel/UCr0f-r1bR

The Museum of ZZT is also well worth a look: museumofzzt.com/

A while back I mentioned using DOS emulation as a way to make crossplatform games, and linked to a few game creation systems for DOS.

Today's find: KevEdit, a ZZT editor (for the ZZT unaware, think Nethack but with colors and ascii animations) nicely reviewed by DrDOS at pokyfriends.com/blog/54/modern

The editor is available via Github: github.com/cknave/kevedit

@admin Don't know how to tell you this, but you have too fun of an instance here.

You are going to have to bring a mallet to the servers (which you cant as they are virtual, hah!) before I start looking for a new place.

Keep up the good work, don't get too down. We all enjoy it here! :)

@lefarfadet
Happy to hear you are enjoying it. My only issue is that they do a limited print run (100 per issue I believe) so I worry I might not get a print version come next issue should they get even more popular. 😂

Anyone looking for something to read, and want to support the indy's, check CREEPER MAGAZINE.

"Weird crime, conspiracies, paranoia, folklore, the occult, modern myth, bizarre philosophy, fringe tech and genre-exploding fiction. CREEPER is the sort of magazine that could never exist in the mainstream, so we had to make it ourselves."

(Thank you to @lefarfadet for spotting that the original link from the magazine cover was broken...)
