I use Moom, a window manager for macOS. One of the options is to show a grid that you can draw your desired window size on.

There are two options: regular, and hexagon. Hexagon! That’s not the shape of windows. But it’s the only one that shows you a little representation of your screen and allows you to drag out the size you want. It’s real neat! But ... a hexagon?

HTML for People Companion Ready for Use

The more that AI promises to do the work of reading, summarising and composing for us, the more I’m searching for signs of human writing. That’s what this hashtag is to me: respecting the effort and craft and all the signs of life, the writer’s own handprint.

It’s the moment where you see the palm shape of the potter in the pot, the typo, the irregularity in the quilt. I once saw a boot print in paint on the margin of a huge Pollock canvas and I’ve never forgotten it. I think we can see it in digital writing too.

Hi, scientists from the Fediverse! It seems that Nature is asking people about Twitter migration and if they are happier on #bluesky .

On Nature writers' minds, Bluesky is the only place to migrate to. There's not a single mention of the Fediverse in there! However, there is a small free text box where you can write your thoughts, in the step before "send" button. So I did fill the poll anyway, writing why I decided not to go to Bluesky but to Mastodon instead.

I thought that maybe if we get enough people to actually fill the survey and mention that they migrated to Mastodon, we can make a stronger case for open, free networks. It's an extremely short survey, so let's try! https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-025-00037-y

In my search for #notes taking applications, and especially to help me track #tasks , where I was mostly looking at #Trilium, #joplin #joplinapp , and eyeing a bit #obsidan #ObsidianMD (it's not open source, and for work use would be paid), I just learned about #SilverBullet . It's certainly intriguing, but I'm not sure yet what I think about it 🤔
