@csepp Certainly, plus a whole lot of others who's influence is not readily apparent.
@ScribbleAddict It's cruel that Moore's Deli closed just the other week. They had tons of doodles on the walls and made an excellent breakfast too.
Was it being denied!?

The trailer for that animated film left me distinctly underwhelmed.
I've met a lot of wonderful people in the animation business down through the years for which I'm grateful but @mexopolis is not one of them and I hope that will change someday.
I'm a bit late to the party but I appreciate the humour in Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!
Posting something a bit unusual. Please go with me on this.
Over a year ago, SEGA published a Sonic Xmas special. It was animated by a small group of artists. During a stream, they had the director & the compositor on for behind the scenes process. What is a compositor? Well it goes into that showing how animation gets great effects with thumbnails, boards, etc. It's a great look at how animation can be done, even w/ a small team. If you want, you can advance to 10:56.

@niko_pon Interesting. The same could be said about the American studios but in their case many studios didn't have a choice to go to TV and were forced to accept the low budgets offered.
I suppose where they differed was that they kept wages relatively good but made the animation a LOT simpler thus reducing the amount of work that needed to be done.
I mostly agree with Bob Lefsetz on the new Oscar rules. Vast swathes of the population didn't care before, and they aren't going to to care after either.

Not sure why Charles Soloman is reviewing #Inuyasha now, but he does have nice things to say about it.

@niko_pon Really? :blobthonkang: Although I suppose people here automatically assume anime is for kids even though it might. it be.
@niko_pon Interesting! I didn't know that.
