The Fediverse isnt unlimited. All social media has to be paid for. All social media has a cost. Big box social' pays costs by selling user data to the data brokerage industry.
On the Fedi, we try to be a community. And most instances are paid by the admin. And hopefully, the community contributes to server costs. It's not required. But servers can be not very cheep, to hold so much.
Any amount you can give to your instance is helpful.

Hi all. Introducing a pilot project for Socel. I call it Socel Image. Every so often, for fun, I'll commission a Socelite or Fedi artist to make a temp avatar for this account. Something based on recent or timeless anim works.
This pilot image is by @cyborgnekosica. And they dont miss. Real princess grade work. Do you think it pops? What are the hard facts about what it is based on?
Still figuring out how this will work. But am very open to feedback. How would you like future images decided?
