I just did a double take when I looked at my station and it was reporting nearly 23°C!
The airport is at 18°C but personal stations around the city are all between 18 and 24!
It is April 5th!!
-2°C!
Brrr!

The fact that a tiny box in my basement on Vancouver Island can sense an earthquake (and not even a really big one) in Japan will never not amaze me!
The weather server will be offline until at least Saturday as I am away and there appears to be a major issue with the server itself.
Not sure if it is related to the wind storm. There may have been a power outage.
Data will be offline from the website for now. Live webcams may still work, but still images will be stopped.
Apologies for the interruption!
Having issues with the webcam timelapse generation scripts among other things of late, so I'll be turning off the still image capture for a few days until I can get a chance to figure it out.
The youtube live streams should continue to work though.
84kph! High Wind Gust!

Fascinating to see these anomalies when overall the Arctic especially is warming so rapidly.

74mm this week. Not nearly what was feared. Friends in Ucluelet are north of 400mm!

The Atmospheric River is not done with us yet. Next wave should have the most precip.
Rain and wind starts again tonight and continues through Wednesday.
Very West Coast focused.
The model has backed off a little for the central/inland Island and the east coast north of duncan is surprisingly dry.
Victoria and Port Alberni might get similar amounts, around 20-40mm, whereas Nanaimo and Courtenay get less.
