Pathetic news part two:

A teacher in played a movie for her students, and now finds herself under a misconduct investigation because ONE PARENT complained.

But the same parent OK'd it... "“She has signed permission from every parent in the classroom to show Disney & Dreamworks movies in class, even offering lines to specify specific movies parents didn’t want shown. Not one exception was written down..."

Pathetic news part one...

An activist in Atlanta was murdered by six police. Flyers were distributed where one of those cops lives, saying “Dear Neighbor, a murderer lives in our neighborhood!” The cop in question “felt harassed and intimidated by these actions and wished to have them prosecuted”.

They were arrested for *FELONIES*, and put in solitary confinement with the lights on all night.

ACLU and others are on the case.

Conversations about women in sports reminded me of Renee Richards, who won a lawsuit in the 1970's to be allowed to play tennis in the US Women's Open. She went to Ivy League schools to become an ophthalmologist, and after her reassignment surgery she was outed by †ucker Carlson's dad. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ren%C3%A @ThomHartmann

When a verdict comes in that quickly, it's not usually for acquittal.

The new fad... what they call "AI"... is theft, pure and simple.

Naomi Klein calls this out as "the largest and most consequential theft in human history... Why, for instance, should a for-profit company be permitted to feed the paintings, drawings and photographs of living artists into a program... so it can then be used to generate doppelganger versions of those very artists’ work, with the benefits flowing to everyone but the artists themselves?" <cont>
