@emsenn@myasstodon.xyz I think the writing style works. I'm in a ... I'm not tracking very well right now, but understood fine.
Got a flier for a new Chinese Restaurant in town today. I was worried about what we'd do for Christmas since the only Chinese Restaurant in town closed down last winter.
It's a miracle!
@popstar@myasstodon.xyz Re: Courtney Milan, she is one of the few authors who has managed to write *healthy* Victorian romance, and included a (IMO) *realistic* level of diversity in Victorian England while doing so.
If you are looking for a last minute holiday gift or read, consider picking up one of books.

So.... thiw was what I've taken to calling an aleph-bet shabbot, after one of my favorite Jewish folktales.
It seems to have been a really popular tale, as I've heard three different version of it. One set in 1700s Europe, and two in (I think?) Russia/USSR in different periods of the 20th century.
One version takes place on a farm, two in a synagogue. And it wouldn't surprise me if at least one is a true story that invoked one of the older ones.
G'morning all.

Hey folks,
I said something a while back about saving for a care and needing help?
Yeah, well, the car our neighbor has been letting us borrow died yesterday.
I walked three miles to get medication and food today, would have been 4 miles except nice person gave me a ride home from the grocery store.
We've got ~$400 saved towards a car right now. We need at least $2000. Please help if you can.
