If you’re a New Year’s goals/ resolutions/fresh slate/ self improvement / planner person, I’d love to hear how you tackle that and any shareable things you aim to work on next year. #2024

My partner put his Advent calendar, with every window open, in the garbage last night, so Merry Christmas.

Congrats to all the folks who trudged through NaNo this year, whether you made it to 50k or not! If you made time for your writing, that's a win!

Another NaNoWriMo in the books. The first three weeks were fun, but I've been sick all week, so it's been a total slog. I wrote 50k of short stories again, and ended up with three longer stories and lots of stories around 1600 words. Now my goal is to keep the habit going! I'm committing to write 250 words a day or spend 15 minutes editing my own work. The real goal is to prioritize my own craft each day. As an editor, I struggle to make time for my own work.

Well, we're 1/3 of the way through already, which seems hard to believe. GAH. I'm happy to report my word count is on track at a humble 17,569 words.
I'm writing short stories again this year, and happened upon a sort of charming moral philosophy professor last night that wants to keep telling his story, so I'm indulging him.

How are my fellow folks doing?

Also, is going well. Word count is on track. I’d love to hear how everyone is doing. I’ve already had two brutal days, which is probably a bad sign this early in? So far, the most promising stories involved a fireproof house, a cat coughing up worlds, memory simulation addiction, and towing a giant.

I just saw The Wall/Die Wand, a film from 2012, and it was full of such beautiful, perfect writing, but it was also soul crushing, and now I am completely broken.
