Lullabot Podcast: Just Say Drupal ‽

's identity is very nuanced, from its rich history to its future potential. We discuss why at least one member of the community says just saying "Drupal" is important when discussing current versions of Drupal and the community that drives it.

Is specifically calling out "Drupal 10.2" or or "Drupal 11" useful, or just confusing to outsiders?

A tech company hiring McKinsey tells you two things.

1. They are going to do layoffs.

2. Management is so incompetent that they need to hire someone to tell them to do layoffs

This is going to help scammers a lot. Imagine getting a call from your loved ones, and they explain they are in trouble and need immediate financial assistance. This is going to affect so many elderly and innocent people. OpenAI is developing these tools again from publicly scrapping of your voice samples.

Git is the base tool for us developers, but it’s not user-friendly. Frankly, to this day, I'm sometimes scared using it in the console. I might be a noob, or I might be too lazy to learn it, but I think that's just not accessible. For instance, I was really scared to do interactive rebases in the console or even resolve merge conflicts without the UI tool. But now, happy end! I'm not scared anymore.

I’d like to give big KUDOS to LazyGit: github.com/jesseduffield/lazyg

@dansup I believe a better option would be premium hosting. Basically allow users of to host content under their own domain, & you could throw in the checkmark as a bonus. 😉

Similar to how @matt provides premium hosting to via Write.as & @photomatt provides premium hosting via WP.com (are there any other examples‽).

It would benefit the community plus encourage other hosts to take a second look at Pixelfed.

I know the next 3-7 days will be filled with exaggeration and doomsday talk, but IMHO the backdoor, though seemingly meticulously planned for a long time, failed miserably as it was caught at a stage where it wasn't widely deployed but only in testing/prerelease distros. Yes, it made it quite far in the supply chain but it ultimately failed. The mess is being cleaned up, no cases of actual use of the exploit in the wild are known thus far. The immune system of FOSS has worked. Again.

Spare a positive thought for all maintainers spending easter holidays on checking those gazillions of docker images out there to see if they have been infected with the backdoor.
