Across in Glasgow to meet up with friends yesterday. Always fun. Beautiful weather for beer gardens.
Just finished reading "Potholes and pavements" a fascinating book about UK active travel. Frustrating and enlightening. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in biking for transport in the Uk. #cycling #bike
Here's a video of my 957km ride from Orkney following the Pictish Trail. Very windy the whole way but pretty good weather otherwise. #bikepacking #scotland https://youtu.be/I6BjKoPlDOM?si=2duzcIQArvEaNzna
Yesterday I had to work at a different site. Took the electric bike bus out in the morning then rode 70km home after. Pretty wet and very windy but fun anyway! Crossing the bridge in the wind was quite tough😆
A few of the things I found along the way: Someone building boats in the woods. North Carr, the last remaining Scottish lightship. "JRK": a grave marker on the Fungle road? Does anyone know? I can't find much. And...this friendly looking chap. #bikepacking #scotland
After Orkney, I then followed the Pictish trail south back to Edinburgh. Loads of trails I'd never riden before. Nothing too difficult, just kilometres of gravel and quiet roads a few sections of singletrack...and some sketchy cable bridges! #bikepacking #scotland #pictishtrail
Amazing few days riding around Orkney, which I'd never been to before. Loads of interesting stuff to see. Finally visited Skara Brae which I wanted to see since that primary school project. It didn't dissapoint! #scotland #orkney #bikepacking
Excellent morning ride loop over Ryvoan pass, up to the ski centre, and past Loch an Eilein. #mountainbiking #scotland
Steam engine trip back to the 50s with Virol - a bone marrow and salt food given to children, and Craven "A" - cork tipped cigarettes!
Walk up the wonderful glen Feshie. One of my favourites. Might have eaten a few thousand blaeberries!
Did a extra long commute route to work. Baby frogs, heavy rain and then thick fog. Totally worth it! #mosstadon #mountainbiking
Rode an excellent loop down to North Berwick yesterday. Paths were very overgrown though making things slow. Legs feeling a bit nettley😆. #mountainbiking
Rode the Capital Trail a couple of weekends ago on almost the longest day. Forgot quite how much climbing and pushing is involved! Started at lunch and got to Peebles too late in the evening to get any food, tried to keep going but I soon exploded and stopped to camp. Fun route! #mountainbiking #bikepacking
