Being frequently nonverbal has interfered with my saying kaddish for my mother.
Finally had idea go off, and googled.
There are videos of both kaddish and the Shema in #ASL . No idea how accurate the translations are, but frankly I don't care how bad they are right now because it's *something*.

When stuff about racial issues came up, I used to take it as a given, I'm white.
I knew that Jews still faced some discrimination in the US, that there was still nut jobs who read Elders of Zion, that Jews, however well we had assimilated (or not) weren't fully accepted.
but where the rubber met the road, when discussing racial issues in the US, I was white.
Now, thanks to the stark increase in *visible* anti-semitism, it's less clear.
Random, but just re-found this.
There is a subscription box services for menstration, with options for men who menstrate, nonbinary folks, kosher food, vegan food, and a 'first period' box for kids.
A couple weeks ago, we got earplugs to try to help kid fall asleep at night.
Didn't work, kid couldn't stand them.
In a moment of desperation/inspiration when hypersensitivity this morning had me on the edge of meltdown, I popped them in my ears.
10/10 will use again! Wish to god I had thought of this YEARS ago. It's not perfect, and they feel kinda weird in my ears, so won't work for everyone. But SO much better.

If you hadn't heard, Chabad Shul near San Diego shot up during Passover services yesterday. Suspect has been arrested and was under investigation for setting fire to a nearby mosque.
One death, three injuries. And how horrible is it that as I type that my thought is 'it could have been worse'?
May her memory be a blessing.
Since I haven't seen this shared here, Notre Dame wasn't the only ancient and sacred building to catch fire yesterday. Thankfully, the fire in Al-Aqsa was put out before any significant damage occured.
